Back to the Cold

I have made it back into the UK and I'm ready to start work on the 7th of February. It was snowing on the day I arrived back in Cambridge and it was very, very cold. Seeing it was average of 33 degress in perth and I have come to 3 degrees, its quite a shock.

Developing old film

When I was back in Perth I managed to get an old film developed. Some of the photos were ones I took of Perth before I left.

They can be seen below.

Canberra, the visa, some hail and the Qantas club

I flew to Canberra on Wednesday night at 11pm. What a red eye flight, it reached Canberra at 3am perth time which was 6am local time. After arriving I proceeded to the British embassy, across the road from the Airport and waited on the benches outside until they opened. A couple of hours, a few more people and some sore eyes later it was 8:50 and they let all the people in through the door. I was number A1 and after being processed after 9am and $195 later, I was told to come back at 12pm to collect my passport. It was processed and handed out just after 12pm, stoked.

I couldn't believe it , on the way to parliment house, it started to rain and then the cats and dogs started falling so I turned back. When I arrived back into the centre of town, the hail stones start. I was dripping wet and had to buy a shirt in one of the surf shops, (surf shops in Canberra, for all the surf, ha).

I went back to the airport after that and a gent I met in the morning getting a visa let me into the Qantas club, I was very grateful for that. After a bit of posh nosh and some crownies, I boarded the plane for perth.

All in all a great day because I managed to get the visa approved.

The Heat, oh the heat

Well the temperature max was 44 degrees in Geraldton yesterday which was hot. To think, just over a week ago I was experiencing temperatures in single digits in the UK. There's been quite a mild change today with the max being 31 degrees.

Beautiful Sunsets

I never seem to remember how good the sunsets are from my parents balcony. The view always seems breathtaking when I get home.

Some snaps are below.

Home for a couple of weeks!

I've had to come back to Australia for a couple of weeks to get an entry clearance to the UK. The weather has been a bit of a shock seeing it was winter in Cambridge when I left and it summer in Australia now.

Some photos below are from a Kalbarri trip to the gorges that my sister went on Yesterday!!

Parkour

I watched this really great program on the TV last night called Jump Britian. The program looked at people doing Parkour, all jumping around on railings, walls, fences, actually anything around the urban environment as they run through their environment.

It was pretty cool stuff.

Awesome Photos Site!

I have found a really good site with photos of Cambridge. Cambridge 2000 has over 1300 photos of Cambridge. Some really nice photos too!
